Tea party: flowers

Also adapted from Paper + Craft by Minhee and Truman Cho, these flowers were adapted from a template meant for making flower clip-ons for shoes. The template can be found here.

I traced out the template onto tracing paper, and cut dozens of pieces out from stock paper. And stuck them practically everywhere...like on my guestbook (above).

And made flower chains with them.

Basically, after cutting out 4 different sizes of the template, use a pencil and curl the petals of the flowers by rolling the pencil into the paper. Then glue the 4 different pieces together and voila, a flower is formed! Simple craft. The cutting of the pieces can be pretty tedious though.

shoes: picnic in the park

it's been a really long while! it's summer break now, so i have finally finally gotten round to making pretty things again. introducing...my new shoes!

the bright colours reminds me of flowers, and the checks a picnic mat, the round black/white button crockery for tea, and a cute ladybug button completes the picture of a fair day at the park! can you see?? maybe i am too imaginative...

my favourite button of the cluster is the ladybug! mad cute.

cute flower button on the left shoe (: pity it's small and not very obvious...

looking at the shoes make me happy :D

pimp my shoes #1

a friend from work requested help in salvaging her schu(s)! after scrubbing and washing them and letting them dry, her off-white flats yellowed, and there were ugly patches on them. so she passed them to me, and i painted the shoes white (which was rather difficult, as the material didn't take paint very well, so it took a lot a lot of paint), and sewed on some colourful buttons to brighten them! (and make them not look so much like school shoes)

cute as a button (:

shoes: buttons

this was made for my cousin as well. simple black pair with colourful buttons sewn on. i think buttons are such a wonderful embellishment to add to anything (:

subsequently i decided to sew pastel pink stitches around the rim, like i did for the teatime pair, but i forgot to take pictures of it. pink on black looks nice too. especially with the pastel-coloured buttons!
